High grade students are expected to participate actively in Zoom and make timely discussion forum postings, showing evidence of integrating course concepts and newly acquired knowledge in their postings. Plagiarism and machine translation are not acceptable. Course completion is a requisite for both full participation and course credit Students who have not completed all activities in the required time frame will not be accepted for course credit. Moodle completion tracking will be used.

概要

This basic level course offers live Zoom meetings with a weekly asynchronous (on-demand) learning environment available in Moodle format. The course focuses on TOEIC® Listening and Reading preparation exploring available online tools. Students are expected to fully complete all course learning activities, working individually and posting actively in the forums before the deadline. This course offers reading, writing and listening practice using common TOEIC® vocabulary and expressions, with discussion in Moodle forums. Learning activities include simulation tests, picture listening tasks, business conversations, reading various text types, exploring websites and free study options, analyzing and reporting helpful study options, and responding in discussion forums. 目標

To enhance Economics faculty students' multiple choice Toeic test-taking skills for higher business English scores. To gain fluency in and understanding of current business English. To understand time management for a more successful Toeic Listening and Reading. To raise awareness of free internet study options and gain confidence studying and researching online. To be aware of the role of Toeic Listening and Reading test as a business English career tool. To understand the role of English certification as a business opportunity.

授業外の学習

Review all-English handouts for 100% understanding. Actively create and study individually prepared lists of personally relevant vocabulary from practice tests and handouts. Research and prepare recommendations or test items/scripts to test other students. Mark personal practice tests, review test scores and work using internet sites to upgrade weaker areas. Performance review: Assess and report personal study techniques and achievement levels. Prepare reflections, questions and in-depth comments for participating in discussion forums and Zoom meetings Post weekly opinions and ideas in discussion forums to deepen understanding of course concepts Visit the course Moodle every week, complete all activities and thoroughly view and study handouts, discuss actively in forums, and submit required homework/quiz assignments.
