概要

This semester's International Pedagogy Seminar will compare international education policies with a focus on equity and inclusion in education. International education policy is closely related to many social issues, and it is especially important how to understand the differences between international trends and the situation in each country / region. While emphasizing respect for diversity, this seminar will explore the role and challenges of international education policy, focusing on the theme of how to address the issues surrounding equity and inclusion. As a specific examination method, we will collect cases related to equity and inclusion in education in each country / region and conduct a comparative study of them. There are many possible targets for inclusive education. For example, gender, people with disabilities, out-of-school children, ethnic minorities, refugees and migrants, and people who are marginalized in society. How should these people be perceived in education policy? What kind of measures will be the education that leads to the equity of people? This seminar will examine these questions through case analysis of each country and region. Through this analytical process, students are expected to gather information about various social phenomena and acquire multidimensional empathy and analytical skills.

  8. Debate on Inclusive Education This session will be a debate. The topic of the debate will be the pros and cons of inclusive education, based on the topics covered in the previous seminars. The class will be divided into two groups, one for and one against, and each group will prepare for the debate on the day of the debate.

  10. Country or Regional Case Study from Africa
  11. Country or regional Case Study from Japan
  12. Comparison of Case Studies
  13. Can we create an international education policy to realize an equitable and inclusive society
