概要
This course introduces students to the basic academic study of International Politics with three main parts: (1) IR theories, (2) levels of analysis, and (3) current issues. It applies International Relations theories to historical events as well as today’s challenges in the globalized world. The lecturer will introduce news articles, op-eds, and blog entries, which discuss current issues in international politics, so that students can connect theory and practice. Although this course is lecture-based, it includes live discussions.
目標
Students will be able to: (1) explain basic IR theories as tools to analyze our complex world, (2) consider relevance between theories and world affairs, to be ready to discuss global challenges critically, and (3) read and write about global issues effectively in English.
授業外の学習
Students are required to read assigned readings, news articles, and online sources, and prepare to discuss them (90-120 min). Students review lecture contents after class (40-60 min). Students continuously study for the final exam (90 min).
