概要

This course is an introduction to the study of International Relations. The course provides students with the basic knowledge of (1)state-centered political approaches (sovereign state system, security, trade, international organizations, etc.) and (2)civil society/ transnational approaches (development, gender, migration, education, etc.) to International Relations, with a view to addressing global issues.

目標

Students will be able to (1) understand basic concepts, logics and theories from different fields of International Relations and (2) apply them to analyzing current global issues.

授業外の学習

It is essential to study lecture materials and watch video lectures. Assignments will be given after each lecture to deepen students' understanding of the lecture content. Students are expected to carefully check each instructor's instructions and complete assignments as required before deadlines. One of the essential purposes of this course is to find out and develop your own topics of interest among a wide range of issues. Therefore, a final paper assignment will be given at the end of the semester. ・Studying lecture materials and topics of each lecture before watching lecture videos (at least 90 minutes). ・Reviewing the content of each lecture and work on assignments (at least 100 minutes).
