BASIC SPANISH 1*

概要

This course is designed for complete beginners of Spanish. Students will learn basic grammar, vocabulary and expressions through tasks focused on developing the ability to communicate. The grammatical contents covered will be copulative verbs (ser and estar) and other verbs in the present tense. Through them students will be able to introduce themselves and their family or friends, to talk about their daily life, to describe places around them, etc. The vocabulary needed will be presented, as well as some cultural aspects such as basic knowledge of Spanish speaking areas. The classes will be all in Spanish but there will be some support in English when needed. Pair work and group work activities will often be conducted. Active participation is highly expected. In order to get the most out of class time communicative activities it is absolutely necessary that students memorize vocabulary and grammatical patterns they learned.

目標

The goal is to acquire basic knowledge of Spanish for simple communication. It is important to note that learning Spanish leads to an appreciation and understanding of the Spanish speaking world and become aware of the cultural diversity in general. The very first step to achieve this is to develop curiosity and sympathy for the Spanish speaking people. The class will teach the students how to learn a foreign language so that each one can find his/her own way of learning.

授業外の学習

Preparation and review are necessary, but the focus should be on reviewing. Assignments may be given on Moodle, so be sure to check them. A. If preparation is necessary, instructions will be given during class. If instructed, always confirm with the instructor whether it is until the next class or until the class one week later. If there are no instructions for preparation, skim through the material covered in the next class. B. In the review, confirm and memorize the following: 1. Check whether you fully understood the content covered in class, such as newly learned grammar points. If there are any points you need help understanding, make notes so you can ask questions in the next class. 2. Reconfirm and memorize the usage of vocabulary and expressions, whether new or previously learned, that you do not remember. 3. Review the audio material covered in class to understand it without looking at the textbook. 4. Try writing sentences learned in class without referring to the textbook and then check with the textbook. 5. Always complete assignments on Moodle or those given during class by the deadline. 6. Perform other learning tasks as instructed by the instructor.
