SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH AND AGING*

概要

This course provides an in-depth introduction to the study of health and aging from a sociological perspective. Please see the Bulletin for the prerequisite courses.

目標

The three main goals of the course are (1) to introduce the theories and research findings that characterize the study of health and aging from a sociological perspective, (2) to familiarize students with the basic demographic concepts and measurements, and (3) to further the understanding of the issue of aging and its consequences to society.

This course requires students to read articles/book chapters prior to each meeting. ●Preparation of class materials and reading assignments (70 minutes). ●Work on class assignments (60 minutes) ●Review class lecture and quizzes (60 minutes)
