SURVEY METHODS*

概要

The primary purpose of this course is to introduce students to survey research methods. The course topics include sampling, question design, data collection, and data analyses. In-class activities include discussion, group work, and presentations. You must have completed at least one 200-level Anthropology-Sociologycourse prior to taking this course.

目標

The objectives of the course are (a) to develop a basic understanding of the elements of survey research design, and (b) to teach students to critically assess the evidence regarding social surveys.

授業外の学習

Students are expected to read the required textbook chapters for each session. There are some homework assignments and one course project work in addition to the midterm and final examination preparation. Students are expected to submit all written assignments (homework assignments and the course project) on time. Preparation for each class session: Approximately 100 minutes Review of each session and regular assignment work: Approximately 100 minutes.
