概要
This course provides a three-part introduction to politics in Europe. In section one, students examine how Europe emerged from the rages of World War II to become the Europe we know today. Section two analyses the EU and the future of the European integration project in light of the union’s current troubles. Finally, section three examines politics in European countries outside the EU system and discusses issues facing European countries both within and outside the EU. These include the continued viability of the single currency, the EU's democratic deficit, the refugee crisis and the danger European security issues. In conclusion, students will consider where the EU will end up in the future and what issues will dominate the broader European political landscape going forward.
