概要

This is the intensive Japanese course designed for students who have already acquired elementary communication skills with completion of basic grammar and writing system including approximately 450 basic kanji. It aims to develop four language skills of the intermediate level. The main focus is put on the development of oral communication skills, while reading and writing skills are equally emphasized to provide and obtain more completed information and to express facts, feelings and opinions. The course also involves a variety of activities, group tasks and project works that focus on or include access to authentic texts and information as well as interaction with others in and out class. Ten 100-minute classes a week.

目標

Students will be able to handle formal and informal situations such as giving advice, making an appointment, and asking someone out etc.; to be able to understand key ideas and supporting details of the reading passages; to be able to write coherent paragraphs in compositions and to be able to recognize and produce approximately 400 (cumulative 850) kanji toward the subsequent study of the upper-intermediate level.

授業外の学習

Students are supposed to read the textbooks before class and check grammar, vocabulary and expressions to have an overview of the topics and be ready to join in practices and discussions in class. (90 mins.) Students are required to submit homework assignments daily.(90 mins.) Students are supposed to prepare for daily quizzes. (20 mins.) A reasonable amount of preparation time is also required for other occasional assignments such as grammar tests, kanji tests, oral tests, presentations and writing compositions.

所要時間: 100 minutes per class. This means a minimum of three hours per day as the intensive Japanese course consists of two classes per day.
