概要

This course is designed for students who have some knowledge of basic grammar and have already been familiar with hiragana, katakana and some kanji. It aims to develop language proficiency in Japanese, integrating four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The emphasis is put on thorough mastery of basic functional grammar of Japanese through oral practice. Communicative activities that use real life situations are frequently conducted through pair/group work. We will cover Lesson 9 to 20 of Situational Functional Japanese (SFJ). Note: As a language course, "attendance" and "daily preparations & assignments" are very important.

目標

By the end of this course, you will learn how to communicate effectively in Japanese on and off campus, and develop fundamental reading and writing skills. Approximately 200 kanji (Chinese characters) will be introduced for production and recognition.

授業外の学習

After each class, students are expected to do the following study (120 minutes in total). ・Daily assignments (60 minutes). ・Preparation for kanji and vocabulary quizzes (30 minutes). ・Review the content (15 minutes). ・Preparation for the next lesson (15 minutes).
