概要
This course provides the student with an understanding of the foundations of operations management in business and services. It provides an appreciation of some of the more important strategic and operational issues and decision processes in managing operations. The instructor of this course has work experience as a system engineer, project control manager, and advisor for projects dealing with issues that are central to operations management. His knowledge of the actual practice of warehousing, layout design, and project management shall contribute to the attainment of the pedagogical objectives of the course. Prerequisite and Special Requirements: Background in math and statistics
目標
A general objective of the course is to allow the students an understanding of the role and function of operations and supply chain management in a contemporary global operations setting. • To provide the students an appreciation of some of the more important strategic and operational issues and decision processes in managing supply chains. • To help develop the ability to evaluate operations performance and to formulate required strategies.
授業外の学習
Homework problems will be assigned frequently. The purpose of the assignments is to practice the concepts that are covered in lectures and in the text. It is imperative that you work and understand these problems to successfully complete the course. I strongly encourage you to work all assignment problems as a study tool for the exams. ● Review class lecture (70 minutes). ● Work on end-chapter problems (120 minutes)
