"Report" refers to one individual assignment and one final report. "Others" refers to a group project, including group discussion, presentation, business plan, fundraising contest and related group activities. Peer review will be used as part of group evaluation when necessary. Absence over 30% of total classes attendance with low participation rate, absence of critical group activities and any of the reports without submission will result in downgrading in final evaluation.

概要

This course is conducted with many group activities. This course, venture management, is focus on new venture creation. It introduces processes of starting a new venture, growing the business, and harvesting it successfully. In this course, it gives students basic knowledge of venture management, including key concepts, processes and approaches of creating venture business as well as entrepreneurial finance. Business cases are discussed together with the lectures of venture management. Students will learn to build entrepreneurship through working on venture creation, and are required to complete a term project with both group discussion, group work and individual work during the semester. The speaker, an associate professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), would talk for the 26th session. He has extensive global business experiences, such as information technology in a global IT consulting firm, corporate financial product management in global financial institutions, and business investment activities for SMEs.

目標

Students are expected to develop spirits of entrepreneurship and capabilities of designing a venture business by applying concepts, knowledge and skills learned from the classes. This class expects students to be able to learn the basic concept of Startup, and combine the theoretical basis with the teacher's experience. At the end of the period, students will make a business proposal based on team work.

授業外の学習

Students need to preview and review the topics of all classes on Moodle, complete assignments and plan a new venture business as a term project for the purpose of strengthening effectiveness of learning. 190 minutes per class ● Preparation of class materials and reading assignments (60 minutes). ● Work on class assignments (60 minutes) ● Review class lecture (70 minutes)
