概要

[Note: Students that previously took IBE333 (Development Economics) or/and IBE467 (Economics of Poverty) are not allowed to enroll in this course.] This is a non technical economic course intended for students interested in the challenge posed by economic underdevelopment. We will discuss major economic issues in the developing world such as: nutrition, poverty, inequality, health and education, micro-finance, and policy and politics in developing countries.

目標

At the completion of this course, students will be able to: 1) Discuss and critically think about major economic issues in developing countries. 2) Describe the features of successful development policies. 3) Have a basic understanding of development economics.

Students are expected to read the study materials, work on class assignments, and actively interact on the Moodle platform. For example: ●Preparation of class materials and reading assignments (90 minutes). ●Work on class assignments (30 minutes) ●Review class lecture (70 minutes)
