Students will be asked to choose a book from a list provided and write a report based on the contents of the book and the class readings.

概要

This class will examine issues in modern Korean history (1850-present) with concentration on modernization, colonialism, and post colonialism. It will challenge traditional views of this history. Students will also be exposed to ways to inquire on historical issues.

目標

For students to gain a knowledge of modern Korean history For students to be able to compare this history with others at this time. For students to gain a sense of historical inquiry in general.
