概要
Please check Loyola Bulletin Board in case of a problem with Moodle during class. The course will explore in detail the cultural history of modern China from the mid 1800s through the present. Students will gain exposure to a wide variety of primary sources, visual materials, and film.
目標
--To provide students with a broad exposure to the cultural history of modern China --To provide students with an opportunity to read and discuss an array of English-language primary source materials related to Chinese history and culture. --To foster the development of student’s critical skills to evaluate historical sources and arguments --To examine in detail the impact of war and revolution on Chinese society with particular attention to the unintended and paradoxical outcomes these events had on Chinese identity throughout the 20th century.

Completion of assigned readings and reviewing of lecture materials before each class session as preparation. Preparation of class materials and reading assignments (60 minutes). Work on class assignments (60 minutes) Review class lecture and do quizzes (70 minutes)
