INTERMEDIATE FRENCH 1*

概要

This course represents the third stage in French language learning. The course expands on the knowledge and language skills learned in Basic French courses (Basic French 1 and Basic French 2). Students further develop communication competence and understanding of the different cultures and societies where French is spoken. By being exposed to a balanced development of four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing), students learn intermediate level grammar, vocabulary and expressions. Tasks focus on communicative competence. Therefore, students are strongly encouraged to practice in class. It is expected of students to make effort and demonstrate they can function in basic situations in French. In-class activities include pair work, group work, and individual work.

目標

The goal of this course is to practice communication and gain confidence. By the end of this course, students should be able to understand other people’s speech and to communicate in French, not only in a simple communication in a daily life, but also about a variety of topics. By using present tense, past tense and future tense, students practice talking about their future plans, describing situations in the past time, and providing reasons and objectives for their actions, decisions as well as giving advice, etc.

授業外の学習

Do assigned homework, review the grammar and vocabulary learned in class and re-solve the exercises in the textbook. Students are also expected to listen to the sound source repeatedly and to practice reading dialogues.
