概要

Face to face. The Earth is afflicted with great environmental pressures as the human population increasingly depletes the planet's resources. This course will provide a historical, geographical, and humanistic foundation for understanding the environment, environmental issues and human behavior. Students will be able to gain an understanding of the physical, biological, and ecological processes of the global ecosystem. The human impact from cultural, social and economics’ influences will be analyzed. Environmental Ethics will be discussed as well. Environmental concerns have started to grow since 1990s at a global level and famous artists, and singers have included ecological topics in their songs. Many celebrities as environmental activists have been involved in planting trees. Today, the green movement is spreading with from the efforts to protect endangered wildlife to the new trends in sustainable fashion or eco-fashion, to the new type of cosmetics with less chemicals, to food safety or green building with certification or to green bonds.Environmental issues such as the biodiversity threat climate change, plastics pollution in the ocean, access to water with others important topics will be done with a scientific analysis. Understanding of the roles played by the government, corporations, scientists, advocacy groups, and individual citizens at the grassroots level in shaping solutions to environmental problems and managing resources will also be presented. Finally, students will be able to examine a particular environmental topic of their choice in depth.
