概要

We will explore the features of an online website builder to create a website, from the simplest basics to the complex development of an interactive web site. We will also study the design of web pages and websites. You will then learn how to critically evaluate website quality, how to create and maintain quality web pages, learn about web design standards and why they're important. Lesson time will be divided between a short tutorial/demonstration by the instructor, and a hands-on opportunity for students to work on in-class activities or projects. For each tutorial, you will access to exercise files and media files for review and practice. Prerequisites: Completed COM221 or familiar with presentation software or web design software such as Dreamweaver, Wixi or Weebly.

• Understand the evolution of design on the Web and current issues in Web design, both aesthetic and technical. • Know how to “tweak” Web pages. • Apply sound principles of aesthetic design and interface design in developing Web pages and sites. • Be aware of the variety of online resources that can help you improve and advance your knowledge of Web design. • Become more comfortable and confident using computers
