概要
This course requires students to use Moodle and Google apps (Google Drive, Docs). Students who are taking this course must enroll in this course's Moodle site before the first class. On the Moodle course site, there will be information available about how to engage with the class during the first week of the semester. ABOUT THIS CLASS This course will train students in ethnographic field method, a research strategy used by cultural anthropologists, with an emphasis on participant observation, writing fieldnotes, informal interviewing, analysis of fieldnotes, research design, and writing ethnography. Students will study the theories behind research methods, learn how to formulate research questions and translate them into research projects, and have the chance to practice these methods through their individual research project. Every student will produce an ethnography based on original research. PREREQUISITES This course is open only to FLA students who have chosen Anthropology/Sociology as their primary field in the Social Studies Major. ANT317 fulfills the methods requirement needed to take 400-level Anth/Soc courses. Non-FLA students or non Anth/Soc students who want to take this course must first consult with the instructor. You must have completed at least one 200-level Anthropology-Sociology course prior to taking this course. If you do not meet the prerequisite, you should withdraw from the course. If you do not, you may fail the course.
目標
